Artist Statement
My quest is to create jewelry that is pleasing to the eye in unique and original ways. My work reflects the years of sailing adventures through the Caribbean islands, creating pieces using the colors found in the indigenous homes and art in the islands. Now living in Troncones, Mexico, during the winter; I continue finding beaches both inspirational and spiritual. The ebb and flow of the ocean waves imprinting amazing designs on the shores are the seed for my creations. You can find an occasional piece of Sea Glass from my adventures.
I am fascinated with the rich and brilliant qualities of copper delicately fired with a torch to bring out a whole spectrum of hues. Mixing this with silver makes a great combination. I like simple, clean lines. My work is abstract in the sense that form is not really as important to me as the patterns and shapes.
