Artist Statement
It’s been said that the impact of art is to make people turn inward instead of outward. The brain takes it all in and reacts with pleasure found in the observation. My goal as an artist is to invoke that kind of response, to use rich colors and textures to create movement in my paintings with hopes of initiating an immediate reaction. What emotions are being felt? Does the painting give a sense of peace, of joy, energize, invoke memories? If it has done any of those things my goal has been achieved.
I reside on the Olympic Peninsula in Port Ludlow, WA and am an active member of the Port Ludlow Art League. I have exhibited my work in various venues around Port Ludlow as well as in galleries in Port Townsend, Gig Harbor, Bremerton, and Edmonds, WA.
