".....color and shape should go together but should always surprise and delight."
|
Artist Statement
Clay is my medium; I appreciate the flexibility of being able to hand build or throw on the wheel, and then to reveal and enhance the natural beauty with different techniques and glazes.
I like to think my creations are both practical and whimsical, ranging from useful kitchen items like traditional dinnerware and mugs to sculptures and Raku. I believe that color and shape should go together but should always surprise and delight.
I began creating pottery in the 1970's and I now create each piece by hand in my home studio near Sequim, WA
